and when i try to let other people come with me they are like oh noez a sin failure.. so heros are wonderful..
and you cant make someone else like something.
its our right to hate you for whatever reason we may have..
we just cant act upon that hate <:

What skill bar do you use elektra_lucia? Since you seem to be the know it all in this thread. Care to "educate" the rest of us?

The argument was about the guy saying his build was better than a ranger, and does more damage and how he could not understand why he could not get in groups. There are plenty of ranger bars which would do more damage.
He said 'Nubs pissing me off'. I never said I was a good player; however, I didn't make a thread saying people are nubs, while proving myself to be COMPLETELY illogical and ignorant.
Generally I won't even pug a large fow group (with a mesmer). There's no point. You can do it in such a small group now. There are plenty of ways to get more money; however, to answer your question:

I hate how mesmers need certain skills to even be accepted in pve. I mean some skills are crap in pve :P. but I find it boring luging around the same skills over and over again to get in groups (diversion, hex eater vortex, interupts) hex eater vortex and e-surge is like the only accepted elites in pve -_-. oh and Mor i think...

Because when the group leader is looking at choosing between:
W/Mo with Healing Hands named "Ehpik Drginslya"
or
a Mesmer
The leader will say: LOL! Mezs cant tankorz!
Mesmers really are underappreciated.

It was a question. Look at where I wrote it... Under accepted builds for PVE. From my observation people accept fast cast fire mesmers. I think they're bad too but that's just what I've seen accepted. I don't pug much though >D.
I am not doubting a wammo with mending is bad (it's terrible infact), I am not doubting a fast cast fire mesmer is bad. However, I think they are pretty accepted in PVE. :P. You will probably read this wrong and argue for the sake of it, so please re-read it until you grasp the point ><.

Rangers had 0 love when prophacies was first out. Just getting an accepted into a Fire islands group was near impossibile as a ranger back then...
Im sure your an OK mesmer. The reason it seems to me that people to not accept Mesmers, is out of ignorance of the class. Which was the case with Rangers too. then as more people played it they learned how useful they can be.
Now Mesmers are popular but most people... Including myself do not follow conventional builds with mesmers. So there is no real cookie cutter accepted build for them... And some people just do not always see how they can benefit a party... Since there is an ABUNDANCE of rangers using the mesmer substitute for interrupts is not nessesary, no matter how good the mes is... Now if your in an areas where there are less rangers then normal, I'm sure you can get a group pretty quick... But since Rangers are now a very popular class, your class kinda got left in the wind... Just like dervish with Warriors... People still prefer the warrior in the party instead of a dervish. just the way it is... Hopefully you have a mainstream character you can use for parties, and do the dredging stuff with H/H on your mesmer till the respect returns for them...

personally, to me you seem like an arrogant Mesmer, maybe thats why people wont accept you into groups. Now wait a mintue! your going to say that you dont say anything to the ppl who you invite to join... they just kick you! Well, maybe thats bc there are too many arrogant Mesmers out there who are jerks and people had a bad experience with them. As a Mesmer, their very definintion is to be discreet and deceptive, not arrogant and flamboyant(armor is an exception in some cases). I'm really sick of people coming in here and telling ppl that they are really good at being a Memser, when they have no idea what they really are supposed to do. No one is a perfect Mesmer here, we all ask questions of eachother and share in eachothers' knowledge.

Why would you want to max out fast casting? Even in pvp mesmers dont run fast casting maxed out, they usually don't run it past 9.
If I were assembling a "pro" fow clearing group and wanted a mesmer on the team, I would probably want energy reducing skills on that skillbar(AV, SV, spirit shackles....stuff like that)combined with Famine. Then again the team would probably think im a noob for wanting Famine over Barrage lol.

Personally, I feel that mesmers are underappreciated because what we do in the field isn't obvious. Under normal conditions, the only things that are aware of what the mesmer is doing is the mesmer and his unlucky target. You can see a warrior swinging a weapon around, you can see an elementalist calling down a meteor shower, you can see red bars go up while a monk does his thing... But you can't see a mesmer turning a tough enemy into a disabled pile of jelly.
As long as others can't see what we're doing, the unenlightened assumption will generally be that we're not doing anything and are just dead weight on the team.

I've found that 99% of the time the credit for interrupts goes to the party's ranger rather than the mesmer - even if the ranger in question didn't bring an interrupt to begin with
